All Stars for Jesus
Welcome to All Stars! We hope you will join us this fall - our kick-off is Wednesday, September 13th! Here is some information about this wonderful ministry for kids:
Mission & Mentoring
All Stars is designed to provide kids with a Biblical foundation and teach them spiritual truths that they can practically apply in their everyday lives. Lessons are taught in a mentoring format, with one or two adults working with one to four kids. This gives kids the ability to make personal connections with adults who love and care about them, providing opportunities for deeper spiritual growth.
Parents and grandparents are encouraged to come and mentor their own children/grandchildren! No prep work is required, and mentors are trained on the week's lesson during the kids' game time. If you are interested in knowing more about mentoring, please contact Pastor Brad or Kristine (contact information is below), or simply come for a visit and see what mentoring is all about! Nursery care is avaible for young children of adults who wish to mentor.
Ages, Schedule, & Activities
All Stars is a free program and is open to all kids ages four through 5th grade. It runs on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. A free and optional supper is served at 5:30 p.m. On a typical evening, our basic schedule is:
6:00 - 6:20: Music
6:20 - 6:40: Games
6:40 - 6:55: Object Lesson (this large-group time introduces kids to the main point of the evening's lesson)
6:55 - 7:25: Mentoring Time (this includes the lesson and an activity)
7:25 - 7:30: Wrap-Up & Dismissal
Scripture Memory & Points
Scripture memory is an important part of All Stars. The kids memorize one verse per month and work on their memory verses each week with their mentors. When kids check-in each Wednesday night, they can earn points for attendance, bringing a Bible, bringing friends, and saying their memory verses. The kids can then use their points in a "store" or save them toward attending summer camp at Wood Lake Bible Camp.
We have several special events throughout the year, including a hayride, Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing, camp night, and holiday celebrations. All of these events take place during our normal All Stars times. A calendar will be sent home with your child at the beginning of the year, along with a monthly newsletter that will highlight events taking place that month.
